Residents of Tanoano highlight development lapses

Residents at Tanoano in the Sunyani Municipality have highlighted the development challenges in the area, calling for government's intervention.

They expressed concern about lack of health facility, electricity supply and the deplorable conditions of roads in the area.

In an interview with Sompa FM at Tanoano, Mr Hayford Kuma, the Assembly Member of the Nkrankrom Electoral Area called on the government to set up Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound in the area.

He said the area was fast growing, saying that the CHPS compound was required to tackle the emerging health needs of the locals.

Mr Kuma noted that a rural electrification project had started in the area, saying that the resident required support to wire their houses and acquire meters.

A resident Maame Adwoa told Sompa FM that it was also difficult for the community members to transport pregnant women in labour and the sick to the nearest health facility due to the bad condition of roads in the area.
