Yawsae farmers cry over bad roads

Farmers at Yawsae and adjoining settlements in the Sunyani Municipality have called on the government to reshape the bad roads in the area.

According to them, reshaping of the deplorable conditions of roads in the area would facilitate their movements and economic activities towards transporting their crops to marketing centers in Sunyani.

In an interview with Sompa FM at Yawsae, Mr Alfred Ashy, a former Unit Committee Chairman at Yawsae worried that the roads in the area were always rendered unmotorable in the rainy seasons, saying that commercial drivers failed to use the road in those seasons.

Mr Ashy regretted that quantities of food stuffs like cassava, plantain, and maize as well as some fruits got spoiled in the communities during bumper harvest because the farmers could not transport them to marketing centers because of the bad roads
