World Patient Day: Physician Assistant urges patients to complete dose of medication

Mr Emmaneul Owusu Amponsah, the Principal Physician Assistant at the Benu-Nkwanta Health Centre in the Sunyani Municipality has urged the public to take their medications whenever they are diagnosed with certain illnesses.

He also called on patients to endeavour to complete their dose of medication, as Ghana joins the rest of the globe to celebrate the 2026 World Patient Safety Day.

Instituted by the World Health Organisation and celebrated annually on September 17, the World Patient Day sough to protect the rights and dignity of the sick.

Mr Amponsah gave the advice when she spoke to Ama Konadu on the Sunyani-based Sompa FM 'Adea Akyi Abia" show.

Mr Amponsah also highlighted the history and relevance of the World Patient Day, explaining that celebration also aimed at helping to protect patients from contracting other infections as they sought treatment in health facilities.
