Samira Bawumia urges first-year SHS students to avoid bad friends

The Former Second Lady Mrs Samira Bawumia has advised first-year Sensor High School (S115) students to be guarded against peer group influences, as they pursue secondary education

She reminded them that joining bad peers would negatively affect their academic performance and consequently truncate their academic pursuit and thereby ruin their future.

Mrs Bawumia gave the advice when Dr Gideon Boako, the Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region presented some education materials to some first-year students at Duayaw-Nkwanta.

About 2,000 students in the area benefited from the educational package comprising chop boxes, school bags, calculators, pens, exercise books and notebooks and other learning and teaching materials.

Mrs Bawumia commended the MP for his efforts towards improving quality education in the area.

Dr Boako indicated that the gesture was to help ease the financial burdens of families as the students entered their respective SHSs.

He advised the beneficiaries to always concentrate on their books and learn hard t justify the investment made in them.


Some families of the beneficiaries who spoke at the event also expressed appreciation to the MP for the assistance.
