General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Justin Frimpong Kodua says the ongoing membership registration of the party provides eligibility to all Ghanaians to register.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday March 12, Mr Kodua indicated that, the online portal has been launched to facilitate registration between March 1 and March 31, adding it is open to all eligible Ghanaians.
"Dues must be paid through the party’s digital platform. Dues cards issued to constituencies serve only as confirmation of payments recorded on the system."
"Constituency treasurers, secretaries, and chairmen have access to the platform to verify members’ payment records and authenticate dues cards", he explained.
The General secretary of the biggest opposition party however warned that constituency executives are not permitted to collect dues or any money from party members.
Below are the key takeaway of the press conference
•The online registration portal accommodates three categories: registered voters, non-registered voters, and members abroad.
•Members who complete online registration and pay dues receive a temporary digital membership card. A physical visit to the polling station is required to complete registration and obtain a permanent membership card.
•A three-week nationwide exercise will take place across 276 constituencies and over 40,000 polling stations, every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, from 14th March to 31st March.
