Zoomlion undertakes disinfection exercise in Sunyani

Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) in collaboration with the Sunyani Municipal Assembly on Tuesday carried out a disinfection exercise to rid the Sunyani Municipality of crawling insects and improve environmental sanitation.

Personnel of the company disinfected public toilets, lorry terminals, container sites, and major drains and gutters.

They Zoomlion workers are also expected to disinfect the Nana Bosoma Central and the Sunyani Masom Masom markets and other satellite markets at night.

In an interview with the media on the sidelines of the disinfection exercise held at the Sunyani-Chiraa Station, Mr Franklin Ofori Akuffo, the Bono Regional Manager of the ZGL said that the exercise would greatly help to avert the outbreak of infectious and communicable diseases.

Mrs Medina Doku, the Bono Regional Environmental Health Officer lauded the exercise, saying that it would also help control flooding and stem the spread of communicable diseases.

Mrs Gertrude Lenseni, the Sunyani Municipal Environmental Health Officer expressed concern about littering and indiscriminate dumping of plastic waste and called for attitudinal change towards sanitation
