Sunyani traders react to fuel hikes, lorry fares

Some traders at the Sunyani Market have expressed concern over the increase in fuel prices and lorry fares, saying it is affecting their businesses.

Sister Linda Amposah said increasing the prices of their goods to cover transportation costs drives customers away. She therefore appealed to the government to help reduce the burden on traders.

Mr. Kwame Dennis, an oil seller, also disagreed with the increase, saying some drivers had started charging the new fares before the announced October 1 implementation date.

However, Mr. Augustine Dankwa said the increase in lorry fares was good because it had allowed traders to increase the prices of their goods and make more money.
