7Chartered Economist Mr Emmanuel Amoah Dankwah has expressed worry that undue pressures mounted on successive government during General Election years partly contributed to fiscal indiscipline in government.
He cautioned Ghanaians to desist from that practice, saying doing so pushed successive governments to deliver on their promises without necessarily considering the financial standing and strength of the nation.
Mr Dankwah gave the caution when he spoke to Kwasi Kyei Baffour on the Sunyani-based Sompa FM "Adea Akyi Abia" morning show on Tuesday.
He also cautioned political parties to refrain from making juicy and unachievable promises in the electioneering to avoid those pressures from the electorate.
Mr Dankwah noted that pressures forced successive governments to find ways and means to fulfil those promises and aftermath consequently had a rippling effect on economy.
