Big Push: Koase farmers appeal to gov't to capture Odumase-Badu Road project

Farmers at Koase in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region have appealed to the government to capture the 30.2-kilometer Odumase-Badu Road works, under the 'Big Push' Road infrastructure programme.
They worried that the former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration started the construction works on the reshaping and expansion of the road project in 2023.
However, works on the project had been abandoned since the NPP left political power in the Election 2024.
During a visit to the area, the farmers told Sompa FM that the condition of the road project had deteriorated and made it unmotorable especially in the wet seasons.
They noted that reshaping the road which linked Badu, Nsawkaw and other major towns and villages would open the area for economic growth and development.
Mr Kwadwo Tweneboa, a cashew farmer and Organiser of the Mimshack Cooperative Cashew Farmers and Marketing Society Limited at Koase, indicated that the condition of the road now was affecting their movements and economic activities.
He noted that most of the farming communities along the road project were scattered around the Boffourkrom enclave and called on the government to at least reshape Odumase-Baffourkrom portions of the road for them.
