A few days after announcing the sack of Igor Tudor, Juventus FC have confirmed the appointment of Luciano Spalletti as its new head coach.
The 66 year old takes over a club that is winless in eight games in all competitions including losing 1-0 to Lazio in the Italian Serie A and a 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
Spalletti has had extensive coaching stints in the Italian league with AS Roma and Inter Milan before leading Napoli to its first league title win in 30 years.
However, Napoli’s title defence fell flat and Spalletti was replaced by Rudi Garcia leading to his appointment as Italy’s head coach.
His time with the Azzurri was equally rocky and he got sacked earlier this year. Following his appointment Juventus stated in a release,

“We are delighted to welcome a coach with such expertise and experience to the Bianconeri family: welcome…and good luck, coach!”

Juventus FC take on Cremonese on Saturday, November 1 before taking on Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League on November 4.
