Queen-mother cautions youth against substance abuse

Nana Ama Benewaa Akwaamu Hemaa of the Bodaa Traditional Authority in Jaman South has urged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and other activities that could jeopardize their future.

She made the call during the Bodaa Munufie Yam Festival, held under the theme, “Celebrating Our Heritage, Building Our Future.”

She cautioned the youth about the dangers of illicit drug use, noting that drug abuse could negatively affect their health, education, careers and relationships.

She encouraged young people to channel their energy into productive activities such as education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, sports and skills development.

She also called on parents, traditional leaders and other stakeholders to intensify education and guidance for young people on the dangers of drug abuse.

The Bodaa Munufie Yam Festival brought together traditional leaders, residents and visitors to celebrate the community’s cultural heritage while promoting unity, development and social responsibility.
