The Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police administration says the command is set for the implementation of the amended Road Traffic Regulation, 2026, (L.I. 2519) and the Traffitech-Ghana, an automated system to check road traffic offences.
Speaking to Ama Konadu on the Sunyani-based Sompa FM "Ade Akye Abia" he explained that the police introduced and would soon enforce the Traffitech-GH alongside the Regulation 242 of the Road Safety Act.
Under the Traffitech-GH, C/Insp Akeelah explained that traffic offences would be captured automatically, saying that cameras would be mounted to capture offences like over-speeding, wrongful overtaking and other traffic violations.
He said presently the police administration in collaboration with key stakeholders were conducting public education exercise on the Traffitech-GH and the amended road safety regulation.
C/Insp Akeelah threw more lights on the operation of the Traffitech-GH system and cautioned drivers to obey speed limits and avoid reckless driving.
