The 2025 regional agents and merchants awards night was held on Saturday, 20th, December 2025 at Elmina Beach Resort of Elmina of Central Region.
The event brought together MTN MoMo agents and merchants across the Region and other officials from MTN Ghana.
At the event was the Senior Manager of MTN for the Western and Central Regions, Mr. Prince Owusu Nyarko who highlighted some prospects at the launch of MTN MoMo sixteen (16) years ago.
About 50 deserving mobile money merchants and agents for their outstanding service were recognized.
The award winners were given certificates and e-cash prizes with the highest-performed agent receiving GH¢20,000 and the highest-performed merchant been awarded GH¢15,000.
Since its inception in 2009, MTN MoMo has transformed the financial services landscape in Ghana, providing millions with access to convenient, secure, and affordable mobile money services. The platform has millions of users and continues to be an essential tool for financial transactions.
Mr. Nyarko expressed gratitude to all stakeholders such as bank and non-bank partners, merchants and agents for their various plays in ensuring that MTN MoMo grew in leaps and bounds.
He recounted the telecommunication network's goal as easy transfers and airtime purchase with the mission to drive financial inclusion, adoption and enhance financial literacy and an economy with digital payment, credit, investment and savings to empower everyone.
Mr. Nyarko addressed all well-informed digital concern bodies to cooperate for the advancement of technology in Ghana.
"MTN MoMo is ready to collaborate with stakeholders to advance these digital solutions for Ghana's benefits."
The winners were recognized not only for their transaction volumes but also for their role in fostering a customer-centric approach, ensuring financial inclusivity, and promoting the use of MoMo for various daily transactions.
