The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season has reached almost its halfway point, and Matchday 12 has delivered one of the most competitive title races in recent memory.
Three clubs —Heart of Lions, Medeama SC and Aduana FC — sit level on 23 points, separated only by goal difference, setting the stage for a pulsating second half of the campaign.
Right on their heels, Heart of Lions, first on the table continue to exceed expectations, combining youthful energy with tactical maturity to stay firmly in the title conversation.
Medeama SC currently occupy the second position separating them from the first is a goal ratio, marking a strong resurgence from the reigning CAF campaigners. Their mix of defensive discipline and calculated attacking play has kept them stable in a season marked by unpredictability.
Aduana FC, tied on points but placed third, remain one of the league’s most balanced sides and are widely viewed as genuine contenders for the championship.
Beyond the fierce battle at the top, the Golden Boot race is unfolding with equal intensity. Bibiani Gold Stars forward Samuel Attah Kumi leads with 7 goals, but he faces stiff competition from Nations FC striker Emmanuel Annor and Aduana’s Emmanuel Marfo, who both sit on 6 goals.
Young Apostles forward Richmond Opoku is also close behind with 5 goals, keeping the contest wide open.
One of the standout individual performances of the season so far came from Annor, whose explosive hat-trick against Eleven Wonders showcased his growing reputation as one of the league’s most clinical finishers.
With 205 goals scored across 108 matches, the league has maintained its reputation for action-packed weekends and fierce home-ground atmospheres.
As the second half kicks off, all signs point to more twists, emerging stars, and a title race destined to be decided in the final weeks of the season.
