Dutch Defender Matthijs de Ligt scored deep into stoppage time to earn Manchester United a dramatic 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.
United looked set for all three points after controlling much of the game, but Spurs turned things around late on before De Ligt’s last-gasp strike saved the Red Devils from defeat.Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for United in the first half, heading in Amad Diallo’s precise cross from the right.

The visitors looked in control, with goalkeeper Senne Lammens pulling off key saves to deny Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Tottenham, however, hit back through substitute Mathys Tel, who fired home from close range six minutes from time to level the score. The home fans, who had earlier booed the decision to bring him on, erupted in relief.
Moments later, Brazilian forward Richarlison thought he had won it for Spurs, deflecting Wilson Odobert’s long-range effort into the net. But United refused to give up.

In the sixth minute of injury time, with goalkeeper Lammens joining the attack for a corner, De Ligt reacted quickest to a loose ball and smashed home from a tight angle to secure a point for Ruben Amorim’s side.
United, who finished with 10 men after Benjamin Šeško went off injured following all substitutions, are now five games unbeaten. However, they have still dropped points from winning positions in consecutive weeks.

For Tottenham, it was another frustrating day at home. They have now managed only two points from their last five Premier League matches in London ; a worrying run for a team chasing Champions League qualification.
