A raging fire has destroyed a seven-room apartment at Ejisu New Town in the Ashanti Region, leaving property and cash running into billions of old Ghana cedis completely destroyed.
The fire, which started in the early hours of this morning, razed down the entire building and consumed virtually everything in the house, including personal belongings, electrical appliances, and undisclosed amounts of money.

According to residents, efforts to get the Ghana National Fire Service to intervene were unsuccessful as the Ejisu Fire Tender has reportedly broken down for the past eight months, causing a significant delay in response.
"Everything in the house has been destroyed by the fire. Nothing was saved," an eyewitness lamented.

The Assemblyman for Ejisu New Town Electoral Area, Mr. Stephen Adjei, who visited the scene, expressed deep sorrow and worry over the extent of damage caused by the inferno.
He bemoaned the non-functioning fire tender at Ejisu and appealed to government and the Fire Service Council to urgently fix the tender to prevent future disasters.
