Joana Gyan Cudjoe Explores Industrial Partnership with Serbia's UNIPROMET to Drive Ghana's Manufacturing Growth

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, has embarked on a journey to foster economic growth and development in Ghana by initiating discussions with UNIPROMET, a leading industrial manufacturing company in Serbia. 

This engagement is a step in her ongoing efforts to attract strategic investments that will not only accelerate Ghana's industrialization but also enhance its infrastructure development. 

The discussions unfolded during her official visit to Serbia, where she had the opportunity to meet with the management team of UNIPROMET, exploring a myriad of potential areas for collaboration that could greatly benefit Ghana's manufacturing sector, road infrastructure, renewable energy initiatives, technology transfer, and job creation.

UNIPROMET, established in 1989, stands as one of Serbia's premier industrial manufacturers and exporters, boasting a workforce of over 650 skilled professionals.

The company operates two state of the art production facilities located in Čačak and Kraljevo, encompassing more than 60,000 square meters of manufacturing space on a sprawling 220,000 square meters of industrial land. 

With an impressive annual turnover of approximately €102 million, UNIPROMET exports its diverse range of products to over 30 countries across Europe and beyond, showcasing its global reach and influence in the industrial sector.

The company specializes in a variety of critical infrastructure components, including highway guardrails, road restraint systems, traffic signs, bridge safety barriers, steel structures, and steel pipes. 

Additionally, UNIPROMET is involved in hot-dip galvanizing, corrosion protection, renewable energy infrastructure, and solar panel mounting systems, as well as engineering, design, manufacturing, and project support. Its operations adhere to internationally recognized standards, including CE Certification, EN 1317, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, underscoring its commitment to quality and safety in all its endeavors.

Following the fruitful meeting, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe expressed her unwavering commitment to attracting reputable international investors, which she views as a cornerstone of her strategy to contribute to Ghana's long-term economic transformation. 

She stated that her vision, stating, "As the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, I remain committed to attracting credible international investors and industrial partners who can contribute meaningfully to Ghana's long-term development. Partnerships like this can help strengthen our manufacturing base, improve infrastructure, and create sustainable employment opportunities for our people."

The MP highlighted the potential benefits of a partnership with UNIPROMET, which could bolster local manufacturing capabilities, enhance steel fabrication processes, improve transport infrastructure, and advance renewable energy projects.

 Moreover, she emphasized the importance of workforce training and technology transfer, which are essential for equipping the Ghanaian workforce with the skills needed to thrive in a modern industrial landscape. 

Hon. Gyan Cudjoe firmly believes that Ghana has the potential to emerge as a major industrial hub for West Africa, provided it continues to forge partnerships with globally respected companies. "My vision is to position Ghana as the gateway for industrial investment into West Africa by working with world-class companies that possess the expertise, technology, and capacity to support our national development agenda.

 This engagement is part of that vision, and I look forward to continued discussions with stakeholders in Ghana and with UNIPROMET to explore practical areas of collaboration," she stated with conviction.

Furthermore, she underscored that Ghana's future prosperity will hinge not only on its abundant natural resources but also on the strategic partnerships it cultivates to drive industrial growth. "By connecting Ghana with world-class industrial companies, we can accelerate infrastructure development, strengthen our manufacturing sector, promote technology transfer, create quality jobs for Ghanaian youth, and build a stronger, more competitive economy for future generations," she added, reinforcing her commitment to the nation's economic advancement.

The MP characterized her engagement with UNIPROMET as a vital component of her broader mission to promote investment, support industrial expansion, and contribute to Ghana's economic transformation through strategic international partnerships. 

Should this partnership come to fruition, it could significantly enhance Ghana's industrial capacity and position the country as an attractive destination for manufacturing and infrastructure investment within the West African sub-region, paving the way for a brighter economic future for all Ghanaians.
