The Minister for Education, Hon Haruna Iddrisu, has made a commitment on behalf of the government vowing to see the completion of a 5,000 seater facility that is to be constructed for the Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC).
This project is expected to be funded through the Government's Educational Trust Fund(Getfund) and is set to be finalized between the years 2027 and 2028.
During his visit to PRESEC today, he took the opportunity to discuss the importance of this project for the institution and the broader community, highlighting how it will enhance the learning environment and accommodate an increasing number of students.
He also addressed the contribution of a newly built 600-complex facility that has been developed specifically for the students, which aims to improve the educational experience and ensure that they have access to modern amenities conducive to their studies and overall development.
Headmaster for the school Mr. David Odjidja said the PRESEC school was Established in 1938 by the church.
This year, the school started with 16 students, but as we speak, we have over 6000 students, he said before the free SHS Presec had less than 3000 students over the past few years, enrollment has doubled, and even beyond, we have 6078 students currently he noted.
The headmasters further noted their challenges in the school currently especially facilities inadequate, currently the have enough teachers, infact each subject has it teachers, unfortunately, they don't have enough classrooms and dormitories.
