Abronye remanded in Police custody again for one week

Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC, has been remanded into police custody for one week by an Accra Circuit Court.

The court explained that the remand is to allow prosecutors sufficient time to conduct further investigations into the case.

Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was first arrested on Monday, September 8, by the Ghana Police Service.

The arrest was based on what the police described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.” He has remained in custody since then.

While specific details surrounding the charges have not been publicly disclosed, the case has drawn significant national attention due to Abronye’s high-profile political position and outspoken commentary.

The court ruled on Friday that he is to reappear on September 19, 2025, as investigations continue.
