The St Anselm's Anglican Child and Youth Development Center (CYDC) of the Sunyani Anglican Diocese has climaxed its 10th anniversary, with a call on the government include the center in its Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) education.
According to Mr Duodu Bimpong, the Director, the Center had 260 children, saying that many of them were now undergoing employable skills training in dressmaking, hairdressing, pastries and arts work, tiling and barbering.
He appealed to the government and development partners for support towards accelerating the training of the children.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of a durbar to climax the 10th anniversary celebration of the Center in Sunyani, Mr Bimpong said the center required TVET laboratory and industrial machines.
The event was attended by the clergy, chiefs and queens, civil society organisations, families, students and representatives from government Agencies and Departments.
Some of the trainees expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Center for the opportunity to learn the employable skills training and to build a secured future fo them.
