The Bono Regional command of the Ghana National Fire Service has observed the 2026 International Fire Fighters Day.
It was on the theme: “Attack on fire fighters and equipment is attack on public safety: End assaults and protect the fighters”, and attended by personnel drawn from the Abesim, Nsoatre, Odumase and Sampa fire stations.

Addressing the personnel at a durbar held at the regional office situated at the enclave of the Sunyani garage, the ACFO Cecil Addo, the Bono Regional Commander of the GNFS highlighted the essence of the celebration.
ACFO expressed concern about the growing trend of public assaults on fire fighters and cautioned the public to refrain from such lawless behaviours.
The fire commander recounted incidents of assaults of personnel at Nsoatre, Odumase and Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADOI) Kwame Adomako, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS advised especially shop owners to switch off their electrical gadgets and appliances before leaving work for home.
