The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) for their sustained efforts in tackling armed robbery and organised crime, as well as their commitment to transforming the Ghana Police Service.
The President made these remarks at the official commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters, where he noted that the IGP and POMAB have been quiet but very effective in the fight against crime.
He praised the leadership of the Police Service for intensifying operations against criminal networks and enhancing public safety across the country.
He noted that the ongoing reforms and operational strategies being implemented by the Police Administration are contributing significantly to strengthening law enforcement and improving security outcomes nationwide.
On his part, the IGP Mr. Christiam Tetteh Yohuno expressed appreciation to the President for his continued support towards strengthening Ghana’s security framework.
He highlighted the importance of government’s investment in retooling the Service, particularly the provision of armoured vehicles, which he said has played a critical role in supporting operations and helping to foil several robbery incidents.
The IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the Police Administration to sustaining the momentum in crime fighting and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
