The 2026 World Safety Day Conference has been held with a strong focus on promoting a healthy psychosocial working environment as a pathway to thriving workers and stronger organizations.
The event brought together key stakeholders who emphasized the urgent need to address work-related stress and its impact on productivity, employee wellbeing, and overall organizational growth.
Speaking at the conference, a representative from the Organization and Human Resources Department at the University of Ghana Business School, Professor Kwesi Amposah Tawiah, described the occasion as a “day of resolve and accountability.”
He noted that the conference underscored the shared responsibility of employers, employees, and policymakers in creating safer and more supportive workplaces.
Professor Tawiah called for practical measures to strengthen mental health support systems, reduce workplace pressure, and foster a culture of care and respect across institutions.
