The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed a deadly attack on one of its escort convoys protecting civilians in the Upper East Region, resulting in the death of three civilians and injuries to another, while seven attackers were also killed in a military response operation.
According to a press release issued by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, the incident occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Binduri, when a military escort convoy transporting about 140 civilians from Bawku towards Bolgatanga came under fire from unidentified armed assailants.
The statement explained that the convoy was shot at multiple times during the ambush, leading to the fatalities and one injured civilian.
