Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor ll, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area has commended management of the Sunyani-based Sompa FM for their innovative programmes.

‎He lauded the institution of the annual ‘Sompa Spelling Masters’ competition, noting the that contest would inspire school children to read wide and build their thinking faculty as well as deepen the confidence of school children.

‎Management of the FM station instituted the Sompa Spelling Masters to improve reading among the school children in the selected 36 basic schools in the Sunyani Municipality participating in the maiden edition of the on-going contest.

‎Odeefour Boahen Korkor II therefore pledged to fund the prize of the ultimate winner of the contest to motivate the school children, when the management of the FM station paid a courtesy on him at his palace in Sunyani.

‎The Paramount Chief also praised the management of the FM station for their other activities like the Sompa Health Walk and the Inter-community games which sought to deepen the prevailing peace in Sunyani and its environs.

‎Mr Aboagye Yaw Boadi, the General Manager of Sompa FM assured the station’s dedication to uphold to high journalistic standards and build strong partnership with the Sunyani Traditional Council to facilitate the holistic development of the city.
