The Royal Ladies Association of Sunyani located at the Chiraa station has donated assorted items to the Sunyani central prison.
The group, mostly business women who deal in the sale of eggs at the Chiraa station said the gesture forms part of their effort to give back to the society as a group.
The items donated include; bags of rice, clates of eggs, gari, soaps, bags of sachet water and GHC 3,000 amount of money.
Giving short address after the presentation of the items, Madam Sophia Anyan, President of the Association said, February is a month meant to show love and so they are showing love, not only to their neighbours but also to the inmates of the Sunyani central prison.
She also advised the inmates not to lose hope but to stay focus whilst they serve their jail term and to also give themselves to Christ, saying life does not end at the prison.
DSP Agyeman Duah, the officer in charge of the inmate’s welfare at the Sunyani central prison expressed appreciation to the Association for the kind gesture, and asked for more from other benevolent groups and individuals.
