The Hands of Hope Foundation (USA) has underscored its sheered commitment to bettering the lives of vulnerable and aged persons in Ghana, particularly those within Elmina and its surrounding communities in the Central Region.
According to the foundation which has over the years offered assistance to hundreds of aged persons within and around Elmina with cloths, food stuffs, medical items among others, has uncovered its desire to establish an old age centre (assisted living) to see to the proper upkeep of older persons within the fishing community as witnessed at the US and Europe.
The foundation in view of this has solicited for the support of the government to make its desire become a reality, as the facility aims to improve the livelihood of aged persons in the locality with assisted living, healthcare support, and community engagement opportunities.
The appeal follow the foundation's annual christmas get-together, organized for over 1,000 individuals of Elmina and its environs to earmark its 5-year anniversary of giving hope to the needy, widow, aged and widowers in collaboration with StarLine Promotions.

Secretary to the foundation, Queen Adez, speaking in a media engagement at the event, expressed how far the foundation has come in the last five years, coupled with its challenges and achievements chalked so far.
She highlighted that the event sort to ignite smile on the faces of the aged, widows, needy, widowers, and differently disabled persons, having had their health checked through a thorough health screening after which they were offered free medications, and in addition received christmas items like cloth as well as food items like rice, canned beef, oil, milk, bread, milo, macaroni, sugar, gari, among many others.

Enock Kojo Brew, affectionately known as 'Governor', on behalf of the Founder of Hands of Hope Foundation, Obaatanpa Dr. Nana Esi Egyirba l, he observed the foundation's intention of widening its tentacles to accomodate more individuals from communities like Cape Coast and its environs as well as Komenda aside Elmina in subsequent years ahead.
He, however, chanced on the opportunity to call on well meaning individuals and corporate entities to come in to offer support to the foundation since it envisage to do even more than it has already done in the last five years through its undertaken benevolent gesture.
Some beneficiaries of the ceremony who couldn't withhold their excitement, in an engagement with Sompa TV's Eric Annan, showered praise and appreciation to Hands of Hope for taking upon itself to annually bring smiles and hope to the aged and needy by way of christmas celebration.

They noted that thanks to the items received of the foundation, their festive season has been captivated enough, since they had little or no hopes of equally celebrating xmas this year as they would.
