At the last council meeting of the year held by the Paramount Chief of Kwamankese Traditional Area in the Central Region, Okakaben Idun Andoh X, hinted the minimum inclusion of Kwamankese in the local government system.
Kwamankese is a part of the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District Assembly of the Central Region.
The event took place at the Palace of Okakaben Idun Andoh X at Ayeldu of Kwamankese.
Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District Assembly, comprises 45 members, including 30 elected representatives and 13 appointed members.
In the 45 membership of the Assembly, Kwamankese which is one of the three traditional Areas of the District, enjoys 3 electoral areas.
Nana Amua Bekoe Abban XI Nifahen of Kwamankese who spoke on behalf of the Omanhene of Kwamankese Traditional Area Okakaben, Idun Andoh X, made the passionate "appeal to the Electoral Commission to engage the Traditional Area who is the custodian of the land in order to arrange their citizens for registration as and when it matters."
Meanwhile, Hon.William Akompong the Assembly Member for Ayeldu who is the Zonal Council Chairman took to the day to highlight the importance of traditional heads and how to get problems addressed by the Assembly.
"The Traditional Area can petition the Assembly through its Compliant Committee over an uncalled for attitudes of any personnel of the District Assembly for the necessary action to be rendered."
