Petty traders in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital have described the sealed partnership between Ghana and Nigeria in towards fighting human trafficking and cybercrime as laudable and welcoming.
In an important step toward boosting regional security, the Police Services of Ghana and Nigeria have established a joint task force to address the increasing challenges of human trafficking and cybercrime in both countries.
Sharing their views on the partnership in an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, the residents noted that human trafficking remained worst form of human rights abuses, calling on both countries to do more to stem the menace.
Madam Haggar Amoako, a kenkey seller said she was highly optimistic that the collaboration would be strengthened for mutual benefit.
However, she cautioned that the partnership would not draw both countries into internal security issues.
Mrs Alimatu Issah, another food vendor, expressed concern about the growing trend of human trafficking in Africa, hoping that with the partnership the menace could be brought under control in both countries.
