Headteacher of Kwesiedum M/A Basic School in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality in the Central Region, Madam Hanna Nana Amoakoah Baah, has made a passionate expression of frustration over the lack of a computer laboratory for students at her school.
Despite the importance of computer literacy in today's digital age, the school has been unable to provide this essential resource for its learners.
Madam Baah emphasized that "the absence of a computer lab hinders students' ability to acquire vital skills in technology education" and made a clarion call to all well-wishers to come to the school's aid.
The Headteacher also made an appeal for sanitary facility, school feeding program, sewing machine, sporting equipment, teachers bungalow, among others as other challenges that need equal attention.
She made this plea at the school's 35th anniversary celebration, dubbed, "35 years of nurturing minds and advancing communities through technology and literacy in the 21st century," having urged philanthropists, government officials, and other stakeholders to intervene and assist the school.
The celebration featured various activities, including a parade, speeches, and performances by students, as the event highlighted the school's commitment to community involvement and development with guests including Nananom, government officials, non governmental organizations and education officials, emphasizing the importance of education in the community's growth and development.
The 35th anniversary celebration of Kwesiedum M/A Basic School is a testament to the institution's dedication to providing quality education and its commitment to the community.
The MCE for KEEA Municipal Assembly, Hon. Ismail Zagoon Saeed upon gracing the occasion, promised that the assembly will provide the school a computer lab and feather add the school unto an ongoing educational program in the municipality known as 'smart kids'.
Madam Abena Asiedu, the Deputy Director in charge of Planning and Statistics at GES-KEEA, who was the guest speaker charged all stakeholders to lobby for support from abled organizations for the betterment of the school.
Meanwhile, the lack of a computer lab and other essentials affects not only the students' academic performance but also their future prospects. In today's technology-driven world, computer skills are essential for success in various fields.
