The Most Reverend Mathew Kwasi Gyamfi, the Catholic Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese has inaugurated an office complex for the Seikwa branch of the Brong Ahafo catholic Co-operatives Society for Development (BACSSOD) in the Tain District of the Bono Region.
Inaugurating the facility as a short ceremony held at Seikwa, Mt Rev Gyamfi, also the President of Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference (GCBC) said the catholic church prioritized the community and would continue to push community development.
He said poverty undermined serving God effectively, hence the need for the church to help improve the socio-economic livelihoods of the people.
Mt Rev Gyamfi said the catholic church remained committed in constructing more health and education facilities as well as boreholes in deprived communities.
Nana Okyere Darko III, Oyokene (sub-chief) of the Seikwa Traditional Council thanked the catholic church for advancing development in the Seikwa and its surrounding communities and appealed for a training college in the area.
Nana Darko III also urged the workers of the society to treat customers equally without discrimination.
