Some Concerned traders in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital has condemned indiscriminate plastic waste disposal and littering around the city amid flooding in Accra and parts of the country.
Reports estimates that recent Accra flooding has left about 12 people dead, displacing scores and leaving many with degrees of injuries.
Commenting, the traders told Sompa FM in Sunyani that Ghanaians ought to be blamed for the recurring flooding and its devastating tolls on the nation.
Madam Priscilla Boakyewaa, a cosmetics dealer at the Sunyani Night Market said she was shocked about the flooding incident, and cautioned the public against haphazard disposal of plastic waste and materials.
She also cautioned the public from putting structures at unauthorized places.
Madam Vivian Nyamekye, a Mobile Money Vendor said she was also worried about the incident and added her voice to the calls on the public to desist from dumping refuse indiscriminately and to bloc k waterways.
