The Chairman of Parliament’s Energy Committee, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has commended the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company (GCMC) for steps taken to revive its operations and improve overall performance.
Speaking during a working visit to the company, Mr. Bedzrah noted that ongoing efforts to retool the facility are beginning to yield results, positioning GCMC for a return to full productivity.
“We are seeing deliberate steps being taken to retool the company, and these efforts are beginning to reflect positively on its output,”he said.
He revealed that the company has already secured a contract to export its products to the West African market, adding that it currently commands about 30 percent of the market share.
The Committee Chairman further disclosed that recommendations will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance to accelerate approval processes for financial support aimed at sustaining the company’s recovery.

“We will engage the Ministry of Finance to ensure that the necessary approvals are expedited to sustain this progress,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Ranking Member of the Committee, George Aboagye, underscored the importance of increased investment in the sector.
He stressed that strengthening and expanding companies like GCMC is vital to securing Ghana’s long-term energy needs.
