The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has called on Ghanaians to be patriotic, as the nation observes the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day.
Addressing a section of the public at the observance of the Day in Sunyani, Mr Peter Kwabena Gyasi, the Deputy Bono Regional Deputy Director of the NCCE, urged the populace to be law abiding and change their bad attitudes towards the environment.
He cited the recent flooding in Accra and parts of the country were the consequences of irresponsible behaviour.
Mr Gyasi said indiscriminate dumping of refuse, putting structures to block waterways as well as littering around were responsible for the recurring flooding in parts of the nation.
He therefore urged everybody to protect the environment and also contribute positively towards accelerated national development.
