The 'Voice of Patriotic Citizens', an emerging socio-political group says President John Dramani Mahama deserves additional term of office to achieve his vision for
the nation of advancing progressive growth and sustainable national development.
According to the group, the one and half year administration of President Mahama was creditably unprecedented, however, added that the four-year term of office was limited for the government to accelerate sustainable development.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Mr Frank Adjapong, the Convener of the Voice of Patriotic Citizens said that politics was just meant to accelerate progressive growth and development.
"So, from what we are witnessing in our country now, from 'Big Push' to 'Feed Ghana', and from 'Free Primary Health Care' to 'MaahamaCares' as well as the 'Nkoko Nketenkete' initiative, we are on the path to economic prosperity", he stated.
Mr Adjapong admitted that the 1992 Constitution disallowed a sitting President to go for a third term, however, added that "President Mahama hasn't been in government for two conservative terms as prescribed by the same constitution".
Mr Adjapong indicated that: "Until we all as a nation distance ourselves from our entrenched positions in partisan politicking, Ghana's development will be back and forth".
"In fact, this is why the Voice of Patriotic Citizens believes and is advocating that President Mahama must be given another term to enable him to achieve his vision for the nation and to build a better Ghana for us all", he justified
