Mrs Abigail Mensah Akombia, the Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC) has unveiled a new MASLOC office at Bechem, the Tano South Municipal capital in the Ahafo.
Speaking at a ceremony at Bechem, she said the office was to support businesses, especially women traders in the area with soft loans to enhance their economic activities and improve their livelihoods.
Mrs Akombia urged the women traders to endeavour to utilize loans judiciously and to expand their economic activities so that they could pay back for others to also benefit from the MASLOC loans.
She and other personnel of the Center took the opportunity to also sensitize market women about the activities of the MASLOC, urging them to plan their businesses well to benefit from the loans.
Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive urged the market women to take advantage of the new office and access the loans to expand and sustain their businesses.
Nana Addai Asubonteng, the Ankobeahene (sub-chief) of the Bechem Traditional Council also urged the market women to access and ensure that they pay back the government loans and thanked the MP for fulfilling his campaign promise.
