President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the Republic of Korea for a series of official engagements aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Ghana and the Asian nation.
During the visit, President Mahama is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his
counterpart, Lee Jae Myung, and meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik.
According to details of the visit, the President will also travel to Ulsan to participate in a ship-naming ceremony at the shipyard of Hyundai Heavy Industries.
“The President will also participate in a ship-naming ceremony at the Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan and deliver remarks at a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University,” the statement noted.
President Mahama is also expected to deliver remarks during a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University in Seoul as part of his engagements with academic institutions in South Korea.
Further engagements during the visit will include “interactions with Ghanaians living, studying and working in South Korea, as well as a dinner meeting with business leaders and chief executives aimed at promoting investment and strengthening economic ties between the two countries,” the statement disclosed.
