Some residents of Sunyani-Night Market have shared mixed reactions over the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged gift sharing in the Ayawaso East constituency.
The issue, which has sparked public debate over its implications for electoral fairness, continues to draw comments from community members.
Speaking to Sompa FM reporter, Lydia Abawana, Mr. Kwame Ampong dismissed concerns about the practice, arguing that giving to others should not automatically be linked to election activities.
“There’s nothing wrong with sharing something with others. It’s not because of the election; it’s just a form of giving,” he said.
Another resident, Mr. Simon Peter, also downplayed the controversy, suggesting that success often requires effort and initiative.
“It’s not about sharing. Whatever you want to do to succeed, you have to do it,” he stated.
The debate over gift sharing during election periods has raised broader questions about campaign ethics and voter influence, with observers closely monitoring developments in the constituency.
