Graduating students of Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in the Central Region have been encouraged to see challenges not as barriers to success but as opportunities for growth, learning and personal development.
The advice was given by the General Manager of the Zion Education Unit, Rev. Sylvester Donkor, during the school's graduation ceremony held on campus. Addressing the graduands, he urged them to remain resilient and determined as they transition into the next phase of their academic and professional journeys.
Speaking on the theme of perseverance and excellence, Rev. Sylvester Donkor, noted that life is filled with obstacles, uncertainties and setbacks, but success often belongs to those who are able to transform challenges into stepping stones for greater achievements.
"Do not allow difficulties to discourage you. Every challenge presents an opportunity to learn, improve and discover your true potential. The most successful people in the world are those who refused to give up in the face of adversity," he emphasized.
He commended the students for successfully completing their secondary education despite the numerous academic, social and economic challenges they may have encountered throughout their studies, but urged the graduands to uphold the values of discipline, integrity, hard work and service that the school has instilled in them over the years.
Mrs. Dr. Dorothy Adentwi- Hayford, Headmistress of Aggrey Memorial SHS, underscored that the ceremony doesn't only celebrate the academic accomplishment of the graduands, but also their growth in character, leadership and responsibilities.
She emphasized that education isn't merely about passing examinations or obtaining certificates, but is about acquiring knowledge to develop critical thinking skills and becoming responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.
PTA Chairman for the school, Mr. Omar Bin Abdullah, hailed parents for their enormous support rendered over the years to the PTA Committee which goes a long way to help the school. He stressed that though the school falls under government's Free Senior High School policy and does its best, but urged parents to also assist the school of its desired needs.
