Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area has ordered illegal miners to leave the Sunyani stool land with immediate effect.

He gave the illegal miners 24-hour ultimatum or prepared themselves to face the anger of the Sunyani Traditional Council.

Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II gave the directive in an interview with the media after he inspected some boundary lines between the Sunyani and Mansen Traditional Areas and the Atronie Traditional Authority in the Sunyani Municipality.

Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II expressed his strong abhorrence to illegal mining, popularly known as 'galamsey'.

He said illegal miners remained unfriendly to the environment, warning that sit unconcern for the illegal miners to destroy the Tayaa River which remained the boundary line between the Sunyani and the Mansen traditional stools.
