Mercy ship to offer free medical support for vulnerable people

Mercy Ships is an international faith-based charity that runs hospital ships to deliver free surgeries and healthcare to people with little access to safe medical care, mostly in Africa.

According to the representatives, they offer free surgeries and healthcare and Provide life-changing operations like tumor removal, cleft lip/palate repair, Goiter, cataract surgery, orthopedic procedures, dental and eye care.

Training and capacity building also work with local healthcare professionals, mentor nurses and doctors, and support Ghana's National Surgical, Obstetric, and Anaesthesia Plan.

Speaking on Sompa FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Mercy Ships representatives said they are based at the Bono Regional Municipal Hospital in Sunyani, where they are registering people who lack access to medical treatment due to financial difficulties.
