Out of the total number, 59,754 candidates will sit for the Certificate II examinations, while 1,754 candidates will take part in other traditional TVET examinations. This represents an 8.06 percent increase over last year’s figure of 55,295 candidates for the Certificate II examinations.

Speaking at a press conference, Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training Director-General, Zakaria Sulemana, urged technical students across the country to prepare adequately for their examinations and refrain from all forms of examination malpractice.

According to him, programmes such as welding engineering, fashion, hospitality, automotive engineering, catering, cosmetology, and many others are aimed at equipping learners with practical competencies, problem-solving skills, work ethics, and technical knowledge needed in the job market.

Mr. Sulemana explained that the examinations go beyond academic assessment and are essential in maintaining the integrity and credibility of Ghana’s TVET system and the value of qualifications awarded.

He noted that Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training remains committed to ensuring that the 2026 examinations are conducted in a credible, transparent, fair, and secure manner.

The Director-General further highlighted the introduction of the harmonized curriculum being used for the first time this year for all aligned TVET institutions under the Ministry of Education and CTVET following the implementation of the Education Regulatory Bodies Act.

He explained that examinations for core subjects will run from May 23 to May 25, 2026, while elective subjects will be written from May 28 to June 12, 2026.

Mr. Sulemana also highlighted measures being put in place to support Persons with Disabilities during the examination period.
