The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seven officers of the Ghana Police Service following their outstanding performance in a recent anti-robbery operation in Tema.
The promotions, announced on April 14, 2026, recognise the officers’ swift and courageous response to a robbery attack on a Mobile Money vendor at Tema Community 5.

The operation resulted in the shooting of two suspected robbers and the retrieval of a firearm, ammunition, and other exhibits.
The officers elevated to higher ranks are Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed (No. 45881), Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru (No. 49900), Corporal Jerome Akator (No. 54157), and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah (No. 59882).

Speaking during the promotion ceremony, Mr. Yohuno, alongside members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended the officers for their bravery, discipline, and dedication to duty.
“This recognition reflects your commitment to protecting lives and property. Let it serve as motivation to uphold the highest standards of professionalism,” the IGP stated.

He further urged the promoted officers to see their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility, while encouraging all personnel of the Service to remain steadfast in their duties to the nation.
The commendation comes amid intensified police efforts to combat robbery and ensure public safety within Tema and its surrounding communities.
