The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) says the introduction and implementation the Modified Taxation System will make tax payment easier for traders.
According to Madam Lucy Adobea, a Personnel at the Bono Regional Office of the GRA, the system makes payment flexible for traders, encourages compliance and fosters positive relationship between traders and the tax authority.
Speaking to Ama Konadu, the hostess of the Sunyani-based Sompa FM ‘ADE AKYE ABIA’ morning show, Madam Adobea said GRA is also reforming the Value Added Tax (VAT) system saying a key change in the reforms is the abolition of the four percent fluctuating rate and being replaced by a unified VAT rate of 20 percent.
Mad Adobea said the reforms aimed at simplifying VAT administration, promoting fairness, and easing the tax burden on households and businesses.
