The Obaahemaa Okutta Foundation in collaboration with Stephen Akese Foundation has sparked Christmas joy in children of Abura in Cape Coast in the Central Region through giving of alms, in aid of putting smile on the faces of children in the community.

‎The foundation through its second edition of benevolent gesture, took to the Christmas occasion to distribute packed foods, drinks and stationeries to school going children of the Abura community as means to better enjoy the festive season as well.

‎Children who couldn't grace the occasion by themselves but under parental care, amid the items offered them together with other parents who also received clothes, were as well swept off their feet with delightable tunes and performances which contributed in making their day worthwhile.

‎Obaahemaa Ekua Okutta lll, the Queen Mother of Abura and Founder of Obaahemaa Okutta Foundation in an interview with Sompa TV's Eric Annan, observed how poor the living condition of some residents within her community turns out to be, thus such events offer them the platform to equally see reasons to celebrate during Christmas festivities.

‎She expressed that since the expenses of parents appears many and hence keeps them hand-tied to do everything for their wards, left the need for her foundation to come in with its little support to children, especially in a period of love like Christmas.

‎Adding that stationeries like exercise books, pencils, pens, and erasers issued to children at the event is in accordance with the foundation's mandate to support the educational growth of young ones in the locality, as parents aspire their wards to rise to her status as Queen Mother and even beyond.

‎In soliciting for support for the foundation's subsequent programs to be undertaken, the Abura Queen Mother commended the enormous support received so far by some dedicated individuals to the foundation, as she envisaged greater support to children by her foundation in ensuing years to come.

‎Stephen Akese, CEO of Stephen Akese Foundation in his partnership with Obaahemaa Okutta Foundation, underscored to have being carrying out similar activity as undertaken by the Obaahemaa in the Abura community which has won the admiration of traditional leaders in the area, thus saw the need to collaborate with the Abura Queen Mother, since she possesses the love to share as his foundation stands for, in other to share more.

‎Chief of Abura, Nana Kodwo Addae ll, having graced the occasion eulogized that aside the generous aspect of the event, it equally sort to reward school going children of the community to encourage them aspire greater height in education and called for cooperate entities to come onboard in the next editions in making the program bigger than expected.
