A cross section of the public in the Sunyani Municipality have praised the Asantehene Otomfour Osei Tutu II for his intervention to end the recurring chieftaincy clashes between the Kusasis and the Mamprusis at Bawku in the Upper East Region.
Bawku has been experiencing violent clashes between the supporters of the two traditional feuding factions for years now due to the chieftaincy dispute.
However, the Asantehene Otomfour Osei Tutu II has been mediating to help resolve and to find lasting solutions to the dispute, extensively engaging the leaders of the two tribes at the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Asantehene.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Madam Rosemary Manu, a businesswoman urged the two feuding factions to endeavour to smoke peace, as the Asantehene do more to resolve the dispute.
Mad Anita Berma, another resident described the Asanthene’s intervention as laudable, and hoped that the Kusasis and the Mamprusis would bury their differences and allow peace the chance.
