CCTU's Innovative Thinking Fostered Among Students Over Past 4 Decades, Reflect University's Commitment to Quality Technical Education- Says VC

Vice-Chancellor (VC) for the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye has underscored his school's unflinching commitment to quality technical education exhibited over the past four (4) decades.

According to him, CCTU has over these period, introduced competency-based training approaches, established strong partnership with industry players for practical learning and expanded facilities including workshops, ICT laboratories, and stimulation centres.

He added that the University has also strengthened research output in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Business and Renewable Energy and have as well fostered innovative thinking among students through soft skills and incubation programmes and entrepreneurial context.

These achievements he recounted to reflect the university's sheered commitment to quality and relevance in technical education.

The CCTU Vice-Chancellor made these remarks at the 40th anniversary grand durbar of the University, themed, "40 Years of Quality Entrepreneurial-Oriented Technical and Vocational Education: Expanding the Frontiers of Renewable Energy."

Dr. James Condua Orleans-Lindsay, Chancellor for CCTU, on the University's plans to construct a hostel facility, reached out to all stakeholders, particularly alumni of the school, friends and other sympathizers of the institution to contribute to help in realizing the University's noble vision.

Guest Speaker of the event, Engineer Abdulai Mahama, CEO of Matras Engineering Service Limited who doubles as an alumni of CCTU, compelled students to be proud of where there are and believe in what they aspire to become, since the world is changing rapidly with technology, innovation and creativity now rewriting the success of today.

He charged students to embrace the training being offered them at the University and should let their still and integrity distinguish them in every space they will find themselves and should bare in mind that being a product of a technical university isn't a limitation but rather a competitive advantage.

The Cape Coast Technical University, formerly the Cape Coast Polytechnic, is a unique university that is committed to training highly-skilled human resource in Engineering, Applied Sciences and Technology, Applied Arts and Business in close collaboration with the industry and commerce upon its establishment in 1984 as a second cycle institution.
