The Bono Regional Police Command has begun an investigation into the murder of 27-year-old Nyorkpatey Haggar, a seven-months-pregnant farmer who was found dead on her farm at Yaw Wusukrom near Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
According to a police statement, the deceased was discovered after failing to return home from her farm that morning.
Mr. Charles Asante, 57, who reported the incident, told police that Haggar left for her farm around 8:30 a.m. but did not come back, prompting a search party that later found her lifeless body.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the body dressed in a multi-coloured outfit and blue trousers with white stripes.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s throat had been slit with a sharp object, with blood clots visible in her mouth and ear canal, and foamy blood around her neck area.
Meanwhile, her body has been deposited at the Dormaa Ahenkro Traditional Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
Speaking on the incident, Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command, said the Command has intensified efforts to track down those responsible.
“This is a deeply disturbing crime, and we are leaving no stone unturned in our quest to identify and apprehend the perpetrators,” Chief Inspector Akeelah said.
