Bono Police visit Schools in Sampa to preach peace

The Bono Regional Police Command has visited schools in the Sampa township to engage them on the need to refrain from activities that has the tendency to fuel the ongoing conflicts in the community.

The Wednesday October 22 visit was led by Deputy Regional Police Commander ACP Mr. Andrews George Kumah and operational personnel.

The Command engaged the teachers and students to assure them of the Police readiness and preparedness to offer them maximum protection.

ACP Kuma admonished the teachers and the students not to habour any fear but go about their normal duties as the Police are always visible for their protection

Meanwhile, some of the teachers revealed that they were considering seeking transfer from Sampa due to fear, but after the police assurance of their safety, they would stay.

They also appreciated the visible police presence at the area, which has given them renewed hope for their safety.

He advised the students not to view police officers as enemies but rather to approach them with credible information. He also cautioned them to disregard false information on social media and assured them that anyone found with a weapon in Sampa would be arrested.

He also assured them that the police would ensure the next market day and subsequent ones would be incident-free, allowing them to attend the market without fear or panic.

 All the schools visited expressed gratitude to the police for the engagement and requested continued interaction until peace and order are maintained in Sampa.
