The Rescue Team from the Central Regional Headquarters of the Ghana National Fire Service responded to an accident at Nkanfoa junction on the Cape Coast-Accra highway at 1015 hours on Thursday, 13th September 2025.
The crew arrived at the scene at 1024 hours to observe a long vehicle with registration number AW 3475-21 loaded with bales of 'secondhand' clothing lying on its passenger side.
According to the driver, he was traveling from Accra to Abidjan and swerved into the side of the road when he attempted to avoid an overtaking Sprinter bus.
A towing truck was engaged to recover the truck for further search and rescue.
The fire rescue team revealed one victim buried in the sand under the truck, a male who was retrieved and handed over to the Ghana Police Service, to deposite at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
